Provinzialkonzil; 1148
Fifteen bishops and 200 clergy met under the presidency of archbishop Malachy of Armagh as he set out for Rome to ask for a thorough revision of the Irish diocesan structure. Malachy died at Clairvaux before he could get to Rome, but his mission was continued by his companions and bore fruit in the synod of Kells-Mellifont in 1152.
