“BISA wants to contribute to making the famous dictum of the great editor of the Greek Council Acts, Eduard Schwartz, irrelevant in the future. The acts, especially the canons of the ancient Christian councils, which are among the most important sources of late antiquity, require philological, historical and theological interpretation in a special way in order to be understood and classified. The aim of BISA is to make the relevant source editions and secondary literature bibliographically accessible to researchers and thus facilitate access.”
