Symposion "Nizäa (325) – Konzil der Ökumene? Die Rezeption der «Großen Synode» in Geschichte und Gegenwart"

From 25 to 26 September, a conference on the reception of the Council of Nicaea (325) was held at the University of Bamberg/Germany, organised by Prof. Dr. Peter Bruns (Chair in History of the Church and Patrology) in cooperation with the Society for the Research of the History of the Councils (Gesellschaft für Konziliengeschichtsforschung). Here the program, a comunication by the Archdiocese of Bamberg, an article in the weekly 'Tagespost', an otherone in the newspaper of the Archdiocese "Heinrichsblatt" and a photo gallery.


Conference on the History of Councils in Rome, 10 -14 October 2018

Symposium Council and Minority

The conference "Council and Minority" of the International Society for the Study of Conciliar History took place in Rome from 10-14 October 2018. Venue: Pontificia Università della Santa Croce and Roman Institute of the Görres Society. Programme and summary of the lectures and short presentations as well as further information here.

Symposium "Council and Peace”

The Society for Council Research, in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Johannes Helmrath (Humboldt-Universität Berlin, Chair of Medieval History II), organised a conference on "Council and Peace" from 15th-17th September 2016.

Vienna, 18th-21st September 2014

Symposium "Council and Prince"

The Institute for Historical Theology at the University of Vienna organised a conference in cooperation with the Gesellschaft für Konziliengeschichtsforschung e.V. entitled "Konzil und Fürst". At this event, which took place in the period from 18th to 21st September 2014, the complex relationship of the political institution to the Council was problematised and analysed.
